U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and a bipartisan coalition of senators known as the Gang of 10 have drafted an energy plan the group contends will help America depend less on foreign oil.
The proposal, New Energy Reform Act of 2008, advocates
- Offshore drilling
- Spent nuclear fuel recycling
- Developing new technologies
- Conservation
The plan also requires "oil companies to pay fair market prices for oil leases and drilling rights," according to a news release from Graham.
“There is no greater problem facing average American’s and small business today than high fuel costs and our nation’s dependency on foreign oil," Graham said. “Our proposal is not perfect, but it is a bipartisan start on the road to a comprehensive energy strategy leading our nation to independence from foreign oil.
"It will create new jobs from new technologies good for American wallets and our environment. I am proud to be part of this bipartisan effort to address this serious problem.”

Gang of 10 includes Lyndsey Graham and Larry "The Stable Guy" Craig talks about oil & more drilling.
Draw your own jokes folks.

A little too late for Mr. Graham. The republicans have made no changes that affect the everyday person . This country is in big trouble and people like Graham need to be voted out of office. Along with a few other republicans in this state. I cannot believe that Lindsey Graham is gay . What a two-faced hypocrit , he gives the GOP new meaning "Grand Ole Perverts"

I said it before we need to get rid of this guy. I cannot believe yall didn’t show up and vote against this guy in the primary. Now we are stuck with him for 6 freaking more years. I used to be against term limits but I have reconsidered. These people in Washington cannot be trusted. I guess if Graham looses it would be like Carolina beating Georgia this season. Not going to happen.

Thanks Lindsey!!
We may have actually begun to go after our own oil and you go and hook up with Democrats and give Obama cover on the issue. You Senator are a disgrace!!
When are 'we the people' going to start revolting against Washington and take our country back??
I'm completely fed up with ALL politicians. They are destroying this country with their out of control spending and illegal and unconstitutional Wall Street bail outs.
