Clyburn: Dems can take back S.C. House

U.S. House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn told the S.C. delegation Wednesday morning that Democrats are poised to take back the S.C. State House in four to six years. He said he anticipates Democrats will pick up a few House and Senate seats in the November election and an additional Congressional seat following the 2010 census.

"The ingredients are there to bring this party back to prominence," he told the group. "Keep focused. Keep working."

Clyburn is scheduled to address the national delegation later today along with former President Bill Clinton and Democratic Vice Presidential Pick Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware.
