House panel approves public prayer bill

A House panel has signed off on a prayer bill that gives state and local governments three methods for prayer at the beginning of meetings. The bill, which has already passed the Senate, allows a governing body to let rotating members lead prayers, select a chaplain who leads prayers or create a pool of clergy from the community who rotate the prayer duty. The bill now heads to the full House.

How many of the House are going to invite and Islamic Cleric, Tibetan Monk or Jewish Rabbi over to lead the prayers?

Apparently the SC House decided that its OK to violate everyone's First Ammendment Right.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."

No exceptions.

Here comes the hypocrit flames.

I do think we need more public displays. How about tatooing "Imbecile" on the foreheads of our Legislator's?

I agree with wtf this is wrong and that this is what is wrong with SC. There is to many laws trying to force mainstream religions on others. I wondered if someone from the Wicca community will be the rotation. It should be,because it is a realized religion by federal laws. If this passes, I feel if they do not include all religions major and minor that want to be included, this will be a violation of law and will be challenge.

I read this and the story on the possibility the House of Representatives (not of regular people)may back down on pay day lending regulation. The House members need to decide what true morality is and if it's about putting on a show or taking care of vulnerable people.
I used to be an Adult Protective Services Supervisor. One of the case workers found that a payday lender had a little old man with dementia change the address on his Social Security check to go directly to their office. We called the SS office and got it changed back so he could pay his rent and utilities before he paid the lenders.
Our maggot, souls sold legislators need to consider, what would Jesus do? I think Jesus would run these money changers out of the temple and tell people to pray in the privacy of their closets.

I have no problem with this bill as long as schools are aloud ro pay before football games or hold a voluntary convocation surface, or say abeneiction at graduations. It seems hypcritical to me that our leaders hsuld be allowed a privilege that the rest of us are not. The bill needs ot be amended to include the above mentioned items.
