Concealed weapons list to be sealed, Senate votes

A bill to make secret the list of South Carolinians who have concealed weapons permits was amended by the Senate today.

One amendment would require anyone who now has a list of the more than 6,000 people who hold a concealed weapons permit to destroy the list. Also, an amendment was added that would make public the names of concealed weapons permit holders who have had their privileges revoked and reason for revocation.

Right now, who holds a concealed weapon is public information. The bill would keep that information secret, the only exception being law enforcement access during the course of an investigation.

Finally some intelligent decisions in the fight for the second amendment rights of US citizens!!!

The crooks and the extreme left wing liberals will just have to keep guessing who is packing. Frankly I would call someone that seeks to disarm law abiding citizens and suspend constitutional rights a criminal... so I will restate that. The crooks will just have to keep guessing who is packing.

now just waiting on the right to carry on federal and state land/parks... Pres Bush is signing off on it and hopefully so will this state, it makes no sense no to be able to protect yourself in the woods
