Budget; teen drinking, sex offender bills on tap today

Lawmakers will meet in both the House and Senate at noon today.

Afterward, in committee, lawmakers will take up bills that stiffen the punishment for those who provide minors with alcohol and a bill that will make it illegal for sex offenders to live within 1,000 feet of a school or park.

Also, budget-writing House Ways and Means Committee will take up parts of the state's budget.

I think they need to pass the bill that lets legislators carry in the State House. They were good enough to let the average law abiding citizen have a CWP so I don't think we should turn around and deny them the right to protect themselves. I have enough confidence in my legislature that I don't think they will shoot at each other if they don't get their way. In the past 200 years or so only one person got a torn shirt in an argument.....that's pretty good. Lest we forget our nation is at war against fanatics that will do anything ,anytime ,to anybody.
