Thompson launches new S.C. TV ad

Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson aired a new television ad in South Carolina Monday, touting his conservative credentials.

In the ad, Thompson sits with an American flag in the background and tells viewers, "Friends, we are in a fight for our conservative values," a theme that resounded effectively with S.C. voters in the 2004 presidential race.

Thompson then goes on to tell viewers he will fight illegal immigration, keep taxes low and the economy strong, and protect Americans against Islamic radicals.

Thompson, who consistently has polled fourth among Republicans in the Palmetto State, also mentions that he is "100 percent" pro-life in the new ad.

The 30-second spot titled, "Always" is Thompson's third television ad aired in the state in 2008.

I'm sorry but this Thompson looks like he has an upset stomach or has been drinking too much Jack Daniels. I don't want someone running because he had big business or friends push him into this...the desire to be President must come from the desire to help our nation.

Gabe, Thompson is running because of his desire to help our nation.

He's the only one of the candidates who is not a lifelong politician with a dream from day one of being President.

And Gabe, if you really vote for a President based on how the candidate looks, you shouldn't be voting.

I challenge any Conservative to look at Fred Thompson's record, and see if you don't agree with 95% plus of the way he's voted while in the US Senate.

To Gabe and any other voter...Senator Thompson is the only politician that Washington, DC calls in to help in the time of a great crisis because he has such great wisdom and expertise on the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and ESPECIALLY on Foreign Policy...Condi Rice does that, she calls in Fred Thompson to advise her. She does NOT CALL in John McCain or those other two rookies when DC needs help...Fred CHAIRED that committee on foreign relations safety until July when he had to give it up when he decided to run for president. YES, Gabe, he was ASKED to run, but get YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, he did not commit to get a notch on his gun like the others are doing. He was asked by GRASS ROOTS which is what YOU ARE, Gabe, and many other voters, and that also included the most wise of the older politicians who ask him to run. Fred Thompson has a deep love for God, Country and "We The People" and he is THE ONLY TRUE CONSERVATIVE IN THE RACE ON EITHER SIDE, PERIOD!!!
