Barber Endorses Obama

South Carolina’s 2006 Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor, Robert Barber, endorsed U.S. Sen. Barack Obama in his presidential bid today.  A former member of the South Carolina State House of Representatives, Robert Barber ran one of the closest statewide races in 2006, receiving more votes than any other Democratic candidate on the ballot.
“Sen. Obama has shown that he’s the candidate who can deliver change we can believe in, put an end to politics as usual and bring Democrats, Republicans and Independents together to win in November 2008,” Barber said. “We have to turn the page on the divisive politics of the past if we’re going to see progress on the critical issues that that face us as a nation. I look forward to working with the campaign here to help win the state of South Carolina for Sen. Obama.”

Thank you Mr. Barber!

Thank you Mr. Barber!! Now I see why I voted for you; you are a man of good deed.

Robert Barber is usually wrong about most things, and probably this too.

whatever else Robert is, whether wrong or right, he is thoughtful.

To the independent, republican, democratic voters in South Carolina. I'am a independent voter who has voted for both republicans and democratic presidential candidates since 1992. If Barack Obama fails in South Carolina due to bigger war chests from Hillary, then I will vote for John Mccain in the general election, as he is the only viable choice closest to the rest of the countries' independent voters. This country needs a leader who is strong on national defense, in these trying times. John Mccain will be in the general election matchups, no doubt. Fool me once shame on you Hilliary, fool me twice shame on me. Re- whitewater, travelgate, filegate, vince foster, ron brown, monica, right wing conspiracy, Iran vote, exagerated claims of gravitas. If being first lady qualifies as foreign policy experience then the whitehouse chef should be just as qualified.

I'm a woman who is following the campaigns closely--in fact, I'm an elderly woman who has a MA in Speech. This morning as I listened to NPR's Morning Edition coverage of last night's NH primary outcomes I found myself turning off the radio after hearing Hillary's voice three times. As a Democrat, I think this is a bad omen for her candidacy if she does become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. I'm not biased against women leaders, I must add. It'd be great to have a female President--but she must have other qualities, such as honesty and humility as well as strength. Egomania, narcissism are not qualities to make an acceptable leader for the USA at this time. Sorry, Hillary, if this criticism makes you weep.

I think that the media paints Hillary as dishonest, cold etc. The fact is she is in the best position to beat the republicans and win the presidency. Please do not listen or be swayed by the media, Vote according to the candidates past and things they have accomplished and most of all- experience to reach out to other countries and get the economy back on it's feet. VOTE CLINTON!!!!!!!

Hillary Clinton and her husband simply have no conscience. They're two power hungry crooks and would do and say anything for her to win the nomination. Case in point, the night before the New Hamshire primary, Bill Clinton flat out lied about Obama's record in Iraq to win votes for his wife. What's scary about them is that he actually was acting like he was pissed off because the media hadn't called Obama on his record. It reminded me of the "I had no sexual relationship with that woman."

Obama is real, he cares and most importantly he can win the independed votes which you'll need to win the general election. Hillary can't win the indepenent vote and would get wacked by John McCain.

How do women (white women) think they come across when stating that they felt "connected to" Hillary after her fake tears and, therefore, decided to vote for her--many at the last minute? There is an unconscious, unspoken, bias against Obama. Do those women really want to endure another scandal ridden Clinton administration??? I do not want "two for one." After travelgate, whitewater, monica, etc., once was more than enough! America is a Democracy. Why should we suffer more than a quarter-century of Bush/Clinton. Its time for a real change! Go Obama!

As a white, 56 year old woman I am insulted that anyone thinks one moment of choke up or the boys piling on in a quasi debate, would sway my vote.

I am further horrified if women actually fell for any of that tripe.

When we, especially women, vote we'd better be thinking about the impact of our decision on our children. We had better be thinking about how our political system works today and if that's in our collective best interest.

We have massive problems facing this nation and our children are being asked to foot the bill for our mess.

To solve these problems do we keep on voting in the same politicians and subsequently the same system or do we want to turn the page, hand over the reins of power to a new, thoughtful, baggage-less, outside the box thinking breath of fresh air?

I can't imagine any Democrat, or American for that matter, that would not want to vote for hope over the status quo. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to enlarge a coalition of across the board Americans who's only interest is working toward common ground rather than the two sided partisanship that only wants to keep score or bash each other's brains out.

Please...consider your options carefully. Remember your children will be paying for your choices for likely their entire working career.

Well said, G Davis.
•I’m a woman, grandmother, and Democrat living in Upstate South Carolina. With all my heart and mind I am supporting Barack Obama as the Democratic presidential candidate. More so as I study the Clinton campaign. Isn’t it time for the media to help the citzenry see that Bill Clinton is a former Democratic President who is attacking another Democrat who is a candidate for President? What are his motives for overstepping and defaming his prestigious position in the nation and world? I don’t remember any former US President campaigning so hard and viciously for a candidate for office. Not even, George W. Bush’s father, former President George H. W. Bush, publicly campaigned so conspicuously for his son’s election.
Bill Clinton’s heavy role in Hillary Clinton’s campaign should be scutinized by the Democratic Party and censured. It’s the only moral thing to do. Otherwise, we will mark this Presidential campaign up as another failure. And the nation and world and all people lose, perhaps fatally this time.

Brothers & Sisters of our great state of
SOUTH CAROLINA:

Before you go and vote, I ask you to consider these things..

Obama voted against having ENGLISH as
the official language of AMERICA.

Look how Obama carries himself. He does not salute the AMERICAN FLAG. He
would not put his hand on the BIBLE to
be sorn in as a SENATOR of the UNITED
STATES. He wanted the Muslam Bible.

He has promised CHANGE..I can assure you that if he becomes PRESIDENT, you
will get change. It may not be what
you want.

JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE ENDORSES A
CANDIDATE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO. THIS IS
ONE OF THE FEW FREEDOMS WE HAVE LEFT.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A GREAT COUNTRY. LETS
KEEP IT THAT WAY. "GOD BLESS THE USA."

The post above from Reta should speak volumes to the American people!!!!!!!!! I knew that Obama did not wear the flag or salute it. Let me get this straight he wants to be president of the United States but he shuns the very religion that our country was founded on? Oh my goodness people really better check him out before letting the media or Oprah persuade your vote. I have never even considered voting for him. He does not have enough experience. Being a first time Senator. Hillary has been in allot longer and has earned her place in my opinion.
