Former Rep. Catherine Ceips was sworn in today as a senator representing District 46, which covers Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island.
"I'm looking so forward to working with everyone here," Ceips said in remarks after taking the oath.
Ceips won the seat in an election this week, replacing Scott Richardson, who was tapped by Gov. Mark Sanford to head the Insurance Department.
