The chairman of the S.C. Election Commission has resigned to become chief counsel to U.S. Sen. John McCain’s South Carolina campaign.
Karl “Butch” Bowers is a partner with Nelson Mullins in Columbia and a JAG officer with the S.C. Air National Guard.
Bowers was previously counsel to the S.C. Republican Party and recently represented South Carolinians for Responsible Government in its lawsuit against the State Ethics Commission.
