Everyone was asked to take out their cell phones and text "obama" to 62262. Of the people who sent the text a few lucky winners received a text back. They get to watch the event from special seats near the stage.
When the crowd entered the stadium they were handed a piece of paper. The paper has four names and numbers of registered voters in SC on it and now everyone is supposed to take out their sheet and call the numbers. On the back of their paper is a script inviting the person on the sheet to vote for Obama in January.
After making the call, you're supposed to check a box next to their name that says, "Obama Supporter," "Leaning Obama," "Undecided," "Non-supporter," "Bad Phone," or "Not Home." If everyone makes the four calls and hands their sheets to Obama volunteers at the end, they'll be part of one of the largest phone bank systems that ever existed. At least, that's my understanding from the guy with the microphone.
Everyone just started cheering. Is Oprah on her way out? The MC said everyone is just cheering because they finished making their phone calls. There's a guy from Guinness Book of World Records on stage waiting to confirm the crowd is breaking a phone bank record.
Will the crowd break the record?
