Sensor Electronic wins Best of Columbia award

Sensor Electronic Technology has been selected for the 2009 Best of Columbia Award in the Semiconductor Manufacturing Machinery category by the U.S. Commerce Association.

6 from Stevens & Wilkinson pass LEED exam

Stevens & Wilkinson announced six of its staff recently passed the LEED Accredited Professional examination: Michelle Motchos, director of structural engineering;  Todd Gayle, a civil designer; Robby Aull, director of healthcare design; Dean Morr, a senior vice president; Luke McCary, a project architect; and Artemiy Zheltov, a intern architect.

Flannery, Evans join DR Horton in Columbia

DR Horton Inc. has assigned Mitchell Flannery and Andy Evans to their Columbia management team. Flannery will be handling the responsibilities of city manager and land acquisitions. Evans will be handling all Columbia sales management responsibilities. They both transferred from DR Horton’s Myrtle Beach office.

Pitch joins McCarthy law firm

The McCarthy Law Firm announces that Michael J. Pitch has become an associate with the firm. The firm also announces that Daniel J. Reynolds, Jr. has been named a partner in the firm.

Johnson named Wilbur Smith CFO

David S. Johnson has joined Wilbur Smith Associates as chief financial officer. He has 18 years of experience in the architectural and engineering services industry including 10 years as CFO with Carter & Burgess and eight years with General Electric’s Power Systems field service engineering business. He also served as as CFO of The Weitz Co., a general contractor, and  vice president of business development for Beacon Eye Institute, a start-up medical services company.

Cherokee Train Veterinary Hospital receives national accreditation

Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital, of Lexington, has received accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association. Accreditation in the association includes a quality assessment review of a hospital's facility, medical equipment, practice methods and pet health care management.

Boyce receives accountancy accreditation

Erin C. Boyce, of Kirkland, Thomas, Watson & Dyches, has become a certified public accountant. Boyce provides accounting services and employee benefit plans to nonprofits, manufacturers and distributors.

McGregor & Company hire three, Matthews receives accountancy accreditation

Harris Darver, Lindsay Harrelson and Julia Walker have joined the accounting firm of McGregor & Company.

James R. Matthews II, also of McGregor and Company, has become a certified public accountant.

Two from CDA receive LEED accreditation

Jill Dougan and Anna Dis Sveinsbjornsdottir, both of CDA Architects, have received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation. Dougan has nine years of experience in the industry and is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass. Sveinsbjornsdottir has five years of design experience and is a graduate of Converse College.

Capital Senior Center hires Kessler

Mary K. Kessler has joined the Capital Senior Center as executive director. Kessler previously worked as executive director for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Greater New Haven Chapter, in Conn.
